March 30, 2024 - Not bad after a 1 hour carafe. Really smooth after 4 hours. Notes of dark cherry and vanilla. A clean acid wash finish with a little bit of black pepper.
Not bad sipping or with popcorn, Manchego cheese, pizza or tomato sauce-based pasta.
I cellared a case for a little over 2 years and am glad I did. Drinking nicely now and could even wait a year or two. -

February 14, 2024 - The 2018 is basically a "pop n pour" at this point. Not complex, but a solid wine and a great value at around $12 if you had the patience to wait until now to drink it. 2018 is supposed to be a legendary year for Bordeaux, and this seems to bear that out.
I don't have anything to add to what this French reviewer said. Translation: "Very typical Bordeaux, nose of black cherry and spices. Very approachable on a beautiful fruitiness and tannins under control. Hyper dry, straight, but final on a hint of astringency, but all in all reasonable. No woody feel. Well done and balanced. Classic Bordeaux at a low price. " -

September 10, 2022 - Have both the 2018 and 2019 and wanted to try the older one first. Decanted about 15-20 minutes. It didn't take long to open up.
A: Cherry, some forest floor, a bit of vanilla
T: More cherry, a bit of spice
Excellent QPR and smooth drinking. Doesn't need to sit much longer. Will look forward to the 2019 in the next year or two. -

June 24, 2022 - Drinks a little astringent at the moment, but would cut through really fatty cheese pretty nicely. Needs at least another year of cellaring; or carafe for 4 hours. Will try another bottle of this vintage in 3 years. The 2016 should be about ready
Some dark and red berry flavors. I little spice on the finish. I can see it having a nice fruit/acid balance once the tannins fade.
If you wait for a special plus a 15% discount and then cellar for 3 years, this label is an exceptional value at $10-$12.
