Community Tasting Notes 6

October 11, 2022 - Part of a blind tasting, notes copied below.

"Nose of dark cherries and oak but also cola. But mostly oak. Bright acid and bright red fruit on the palate. Definitely some stem inclusion. Mushrooms on the finish with rocky red minerality. 90-91, probably California, Russian river, has some age, 15-16, should be a $30-40. Good but not my preference"

Later in the night this turned ***extremely*** oak driven. Was disgusting and not recognizable as PN. 86 over time.

October 8, 2022 - About an hour of air. On the nose lots of oaky chocolate, red and black fruits. Palate was medium + bodied and acid was high. Complexity was here but this was a bit jammier and oakier than I like in my pinots. Not quite what I was expecting from Fort Ross. Could maybe use another year or two of bottle aging.

February 11, 2022 - Apple tarte and delicately balanced.

November 10, 2021 - Nose is a bit crab-apple, raspberry. Taught on the palate, I kinda like it.

November 4, 2021 - Tight tart cherry and maybe a bit corked. Or just evergreen-y. Tasyt, but just a bit corked I do believe.
