April 23, 2024 - Good, dark fruited, plum, perhaps veers a bit too much to dried/over ripe fruit for my liking, but solid and well made. Questionable value vs say the entry level Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rossos

October 3, 2022 - Interesting - has sort of a dark, sweet raisinated character to the fruit and the nose is showing slight oxidation. Tannins are fairly prominent. This should be consumed sooner rather than later if this bottle is representative…still tasty but I can see this going downhill quickly.

September 16, 2022 - Very popular with our dinner guests. This is at the riper end of Etna reds, though with a nicely balancing acidity and a degree of astringency. Fully drinkable now -- perhaps even best drunk young, before the ripeness wins the battle against the acidity.

May 18, 2022 - Wrought iron, black tea, salty iodine finish. Zippy tomato leaf. Some dark fruits under there somewhere. Nice acidity. Minimal tannic bite. Pleasant food wine but also fun to have on its own.

    July 6, 2021 - Deep ruby, hazy

Nose: Rose tea, tar, melted raisin.

A smooth, deep pool of dried black cherry holds center court, adjoined to a high torque mid palate of black raisin, crushed anise, baking chocolate and black tea. Finish shows a very light hint of tar as it falls off. The lovely fruit comes through in layers here, if ending out shorter in the mouth overall.

Overall: Chewy and rustic, but with fabulous fruit. Distinctive and rich in its own way. A winner. Drink now- 2030.
