April 14, 2024 - Lighter in color than the Singerriedel I had a few days ago. This is a light gold color. The nose has some papaya, pineapple, bitter orange and some petrol notes. Dry on the palate. The body is medium and unctuous. There's a good amount of acidity and also light bitterness on the finish. Very good bottle.

December 14, 2021 - Still in great shape and drinking nicely for my taste. Rich oily lychee with white pepper spices.

October 29, 2021 - Medium yellow. Tropical fruit and petrol. Full bodied but excellent underpinning of stone and acidity. Just off dry, hints of papaya. This was in terrific shape and fresher than a bottle a year ago.

Spicier, more stone fruit, and an intriguing botanical note the second night. This held up very well after being recorked.

October 13, 2020 - Deep yellow with an orange tinge. Exuberant candied apricot and stone fruit, along with a bit of petrol. Full bodied, off dry. Again, pretty rich and exotic on the palate. No shy, shrinking violet this. Adequate acidity, but just this side of not being over the top. Fully expressed...and then some.

May 6, 2018 - Copain Syrah Tasting (My Place - Washington, DC): Gorgeous aromas of pineapple, apricot, orange marmalade, some chalk dust. Plump and super fruity on the palate, with honey, graham cracker, orange marmalade, candied pineapple and ginger notes. Lovely depth and texture, but the wine is a bit fat, and the acidity is a bit muted. But it's so delicious that even this acid hound can't help but love this wine.
