June 2, 2022 - With a friend, over deli plate. Ruby, opaque, just the slightest hint of amber edge, after 25 years! Aromas immediate and pronounced, of raspberries, plums, vanilla, and floral notes, some sweetness, still pronounced six hours later. Very similar aromas to a Grange. The flavors match the aromas, very concentrated but round and perfectly balanced raspberry and plums, incredible long aftertaste, with just the right amount of tannin, acid, and alcohol. Amazingly fresh and youthful for its age. My only bottle. Not past its prime, but time to drink and enjoy!

May 27, 2021 - This is really an extraordinary wine. Definitely a big wine but not over done. Massive perfume of menthol and blueberries soars from the glass. The palate mirrors the nose but adds Christmas pudding, definitely a rich wine. The structure zings on the tongue, big tannins and acidity. Despite its heft it has a perfect balance of rich fruit and structure. Full bodied. The finish is really never-ending, lingering for minutes, loads of complexity. This is not even approaching middle age. Drink now and I suspect it will last way more than another decade, though some slight tertiary notes are beginning to show.

October 23, 2016 - An excellent example of a fine Barossa shiraz. At this point it has really softened, with muted acidity and silky tannins. On the nose it smelt like a fine port. The palate did not have the level of intensity that port does. A really complex wine with layers of fruit, plum is the most obvious, but also blackcurrant, dark cherry, some tobacco. I can't see why this won't last a few more years at this level, but for me its evolution has peaked, particularly as the acidity is so muted.

July 14, 2015 - Slutty nose and a really big and ripe wine. Better than the avg Aussie fruit bomb due to the acidity in the finish but still a little too much for me. We had it with Brazillian BBQ and this almost melted the steak. I can see how this wine was crafted but the style is not for me. Glad I tried it now i won't buy it.

January 14, 2012 - Football and Wines from the 90s @ Mike J (Wilton, CT): Ripe, but a bit volatile. Soft but one-dimensional. Meh...
