November 3, 2023 - Very good QPR. Almost like a dessert wine. Much fuller body than I expected. Mild acidity with intense citrus fruit. My wife likes heavily oaked whites and this is right up her alley.

January 1, 2023 - For 12 euros this is excellent value. The style is classic Vouvray demi-sec, so full of notes of honey and even a little butterscotch, tempered by citrus fruits, especially on the finish. Personally I prefer the way other producers like Champalou have revisited the style, replacing the honey with apples and pears, but if you like the traditional style, this is a great example. Still very young, I would imagine this has five to ten years of fun ahead.

September 7, 2022 - Retail $20. 100% Chenin Blanc. Demi-Sec (21-24 grams of sugar per liter). A classic wine from a noted producer, this is, in many ways the essence of Vouvray. Racy and fruity, but also a bit sweet, this has been the essence of Vouvray for decades. While there are more "modern" wines that have moved away from the traditional demi-sec style, this beauty from Domaine Pichot embraces it. The key to balance the sweetness, of course, is a zingy acidity, and this wine has it in spades. Along with tree fruit a go-go (apple and pear in particular) and a nice dose of chalky minerality, this is a near perfectly balanced wine and the sweetness, although noticeable, is not even slightly out of place. Excellent.

February 21, 2022 - A damn good wine for the price. This one has become a weekday drinker for its crushable nature, consumer friendly price tag, and its ability to pair with a wide variety of foods.

It's definitely off-dry, so if that's not your thing, definitely avoid. But for me it's lovely and perfect. The sweetness is balanced with a very nice bright acidity.

The nose has pear, honeycomb, a little sprinkle of minerals and an ever-so-slight hint of swimming pool which, for the record, is an aromatic note that I enjoy.

Medium to full bodied on the pallet, mouth watering and full flavored, nice long fruit and honey finish with an acid content that cuts through the finish and leaves the mouth clean.

This paired awesome with goat cheese, chicken jalapeno sausages, and even asparagus!
