December 17, 2017 - Drank with John and my dad with turkey after church and seein Christmas lights in Washington square park. Opened up after 15 minutes. Really liked it. Was afraid it was past it's time

July 2, 2010 - Oogh. This was the bottle in the rack in front of the bottle I wanted to drink tonight, so I grabbed it just to see how an 8-year old Loring would be. It was undrinkable when first poured. I got sour, VA, chemical elements. I gave it a couple hours and it got to the point where it was, technically, drinkable, and it was definitely Pinot, but not at all my cup of tea. There were some nice clove notes, but that's all the positive I can muster. In fairness, I think Brian tends to make his wines (especially these earlier ones) to be consumed in the first 5 years. (PE: 60)

September 4, 2009 - Not until ‘04 did I first try Rosella’s from this vintage. It was tight and needed time. Next came a half bottle in ‘06 that should have been consumed earlier. Until now, I had sorta forgotten about this wine. Stopped with the black synthetic, Brian had told us all to drink ‘em young. I should’ve listened. The first pour of the wine foreshadowed how this would fare. The nose was spoiled by soap in the glass. Out went the first pour and the glass re-washed and rinsed. With nothing between the wine and the nose, I sort of wished for the soap. VA hits the nose. What fruit is there is overpowered by a sharp acidity. Some typical Loring elements briefly make an appearance with teaberry, cranberry and cinnamon and candy apple. But those flavors don’t last long. Of what is there, it lacks both depth and complexity. And when they fade, there is nothing there but the acidity and it ain’t pretty. It grips the palate and does not let go until hot finish takes over. No telling if it has sediment or not. We never returned to the bottle that evening taking no more than the wine from bottle’s neck. A very disappointing wine. 14.1% alc. With grilled duck breast with a blackberry sauce and sides of a mushroom and potato gratin and Mille Feuille (layers of eggplant, tomatoes, goat cheese, zucchini, broccoli sprouts) (courtesy of Mark Tinsley). Not Recommended. For more info, see col bob from this date.

May 27, 2008 - ($40) Smoky Pinot Cranberry fruit nose. Concentrated. This is showing well.

February 6, 2008 - Pretty standard issue. So NOT worth the money.
