April 12, 2023 - Nose red fruited, hints of meaty pinot fruit, Alcohol, candied rose petal, aromatics are driven by green herbal spice, oak, Alc and hints of incense. Palate a little Rough around the edges, white pepper, Hot 14.6%, red cherry, green plum. lacks refinement with short finish. Acidity robust. This showed better 2 years back when fruit profile was more primary. As this juice is 100% destemmed there’s a lot of herbal spiciness coming from those pips. Purchased winery direct upon release, stored accordingly enjoyed over two days… Na zdrowie

June 1, 2021 - Black Kite: Deep ruby color. A concentrated nose of raspberry jam, plum sauce, black cherries, with violets, sarsaparilla, birch, minty, peppery tones. Full and suave on the palate with a chewy tannic structure and medium acidity. Ripe and forward with plums, black cherries and raspberry, but the nuances are exciting, too: black pepper, walnut, cola, coffee, black tea, underlying earth tones. Needs some air and time and it really opens up to show more. Would be a delight to hold for four or five years. From the higher portion of the vineyard, aged 17 months in 2/3 new French oak.
