September 17, 2020 - So much darker and denser than the 46 alongside, deep coppery brown flecked with green. Huge nose. So intense. Muscavado, spice, citrus top notes, toasted nuts, figgy pudding and so on. Makes all the cognac and rum to hand smell very light and watery. So multifaceted and complex. Really fills the room. The attack is almost painful. Bright, very intense and concentrated and with huge extract and acidity on the finish. The occasional sip suffices as it’s hard to distract oneself from the nose. Indestructible. Apparently approx 90 years old and absolutely monumental. ******
