  January 6, 2024 - Hmmm - whelming, memorable and multidimensional. Typical Vincent Gamay magenta color. Nose of ten year red burgundy, heavy on the forest floor. Cranberry attack, followed by red fruit and earth, with chalk and red fruit on the finish. The 2019 Gamay Noir was a bit stern on release, but these keep getting better and better. So drink or hold. Excellent.

  January 22, 2022 - Somewhere in my notes I found Richard Olney saying this about old school Gamay: "cherry-colored Beaujolais with the violet blush and the rush of green fruit that ravished me...". A sip of this wine sent me looking up that quote, it captures it perfectly. Delicious with boudin noir, and I'm guessing just about anything vaguely Lyonaise.
