April 27, 2022 - It's pure Petit Verdot, which is unusual, so don't be surprised there. As a result, it's very full bodied, and very structured. Dominated by the tannic backend, the nose is a bit weak. But it pairs nicely with some strong fatty meats as it can cut through and make a statement, in this case some BBQ ribs. An interesting wine to have one or two of in the cellar, but I think it's better off in a blend most times. I'm a bit torn on drink dates because it will definitely soften in time, but so will the limited fruit, so curious what others think.
