January 3, 2022 - Still pretty massive wine here. If you like BIG then this is a "drink now" - if you want to achieve a bit of subtlety then wait, and wait...2-3 years for sure. But all the parts are there for a Cab Franc - cocoa, rose petals, dark fruit. But all of it very tightly wound, needing a serious decant at this point.

September 13, 2021 - Purchased at their Walla Walla tasting room last spring.

Appearance: clear very deep purple/ruby color. No gas or obvious sediment, fairly heavy tearing. Give it a little while to open up (~15-20 minutes)

Nose: medium/medium(+) intense aromas of dark plum and meat with notes of green pepper and vanilla. Definitely a solid amount of new (french) oak on this

Palate: Medium(+) acid, off-dry, smooth texture, medium(+) bodied, medium tannins, medium/medium(+) complexity, and nicely balanced. Medium/medium(+) flavors of juicy red plum, red cherry and cocoa powder with notes of graphite, meat, and bell pepper. Clean medium(+) dark red fruit and chocolate finish

A very nice fruit forward cab franc with some meaty and green notes. High octane with nearly 15% alcohol, but good balance and complexity. Very nice to drink!

May 9, 2021 - Cassis, cigar box and maybe some chocolatey notes. Balanced and tasty. This is always a great cab franc from a dependable walla walla winery. Whether it’s Corliss, tranche or secret squirrel I am always confident that i will enjoy the wine. I also feel that their wines, at all 3 tiers, are priced fairly. I am told that Heritage restaurant in Woodinville will have this by the glass soon.
