Community Tasting Notes 6

December 18, 2023 - This bottle really overperformed today. I think 18 is a vintage that marries beautifully with JCR’s extroverted wines. More oak than the Pernand Vergelesses and not quite as expansive as the Boudriotte but man was it close. This was rich and showy, in a perfect spot. I understand the higher cuvées may see better barrel treatment, but you’d be hard pressed to deduce that here. Quite possibly the best QPR in the lineup

January 28, 2023 - Kept in a wine-cooler since February or August 2021. Taste: a bit sweet vanllla, some refined licorice, some hard to define fruit amongst which apple, in a refined way supported by a proper amount of oak. Rather long finish. Also in this vintage a very good Murgers by Ramonet. 92-93.

November 18, 2022 - Medium+ nose intensity with notes of lemon, green apple. High acidity and long finish

October 16, 2021 - This was awesome. After about an out it was really singing. Pretty round / ripe but in a really good way. Has that cool contradiction of density and lightness

Had that sexy Ramonet oak profile that when it works is awesome

September 9, 2021 - Popped and poured, not aerated. Drunk in the Riedel Chardonnay-glass, which gave a more powerful taste than in the Riedel Chassagne-glass. Color: (light-)yellow. Nose: a bit grassy with a undifferentiated fruity note. Taste: some oak, undifferentiated fruit and a lively acidity, above all with a lot of energy, but a bit closed. At the fourth day the nose was a bit grassy, the taste more open, with notes of lychee and peach. Very precise and energetic. For me after the 2014 and 2017 another excellent vintage of this wine. Like a flower in the bud, this will need at least one, more probably two years of cellaring, but with decanting it can also be drunk now. At the fourth day 91-92.
