Community Tasting Notes 4

September 5, 2023 - Oops, I think I just drank the btl my father-in-law left in my cellar. Nothing to add to previous note. Still solid acidity and excellent aromatics. Excellent, varietally correct, and compelling viognier.

June 21, 2022 - Excellent viognier. Nose of pear, peach, some green apple. Medium to full body, fairly long finish. Nice acidity, soft, almost creamy on the palate, with just enough acidity to balance. Fruit notes and minerality. An excellent Viognier.

July 4, 2021 - Pop and pour. Nothing to add to my last note. Maybe a bit less minerality than I remember, but a very good CA viognier, with fantastic aromatics and restraint on the palate.

April 3, 2021 - Bought this after tasting at the vineyards. I usually avoid non N. Rhone viognier like the plague (or Covid, too soon?). But this was excellent, and compelling enough to make me buy more than 1 btl. Notes from Day 2 open, and in the fridge overnight, and then in a refrigerated bag during a hike followed by a long car ride. On the nose: peach, tangerine, lychee, so vibrant and with a soft minerality. On the palate: excellent acidity, which is always the problem outside the Rhone, good density...sappy without being overly oily, fantastic minerality on the palate with a soft bitter walnut note. Excellent.
