January 7, 2024 - This a great Redvolution, slightly more on the dark side (relative to German Pinot). Excellent depth and complexity with a long evolving finish.

With the structure that builds up (gentle but gains in volume), the darker fruit profile, licorice I shows resemblance to Chambertain.

    Impressive.

September 19, 2021 - 12.5% abv. AP 13. EYE: much darker than Stein's 2019 Red Light. NOSE: jammy, mature berries. The smell has an oily significance, like tank aged Vosne-Romanée; like Durst. Aeration gives detail and lift. Fresh blue fruits are involved with raspberry jam. The earthy vibe here is nutrient rich and pocked with pepper. MOUTH: serious and savory. To my surprise, it’s quite fleet, showing much detail and organization already. Does this see wood? Grave, slate grip platforms a spellbinding narration of spice and berry, all variously cured and preserved. Japanese bramble. Russian tea. Chewing on it produces juice, and in its haste it rinses salt and viscosity from antique stone patchwork. The finish is grownup; attenuated; dried with brown spice; auspicious. A touch of reduction shows. I believe this wants to evolve in a proper cellar. TIME: Finished 24 hours later. An example of intensity and precision. Tannins and acidity strung tight. Fruit and spice ring out loud. Reduction, gone. Jam, dehydrated. Promising. Drink 2023-2028.
