August 9, 2022 - Rajat’s take on Palomino: buttered popcorn, salted almonds, green olive, ripe lemon, rich nectarine and grapefruit zest. Full, yellow-fruity and saltish mouthfeel. On the modest acidity side, but nicely structured by dry elements and saltyness. Long, mineral-driven finish. Just an exciting wine from Rajat Parr’s wine Club. I want more.

August 28, 2021 - A somewhat rare pearl from Rajat Parr: Scythians Palomino is like the baby of sherry and a fruit-driven Chenin: interesting nose, with flint, almond, green olives, sunripe lemon, yellow apple and beeswax. Soft touch, with medium acidity and juicy apple-and-citrusy feel. Lemon zest with slight bitterness. Nice mineral nerve. Long finish, ending on almond, smokey and lemon peel notes. An interesting Californian twist, indeed. (By the way; The Scythians were a group of ancient tribes of nomadic warriors who originally lived in what is now southern Siberia. Now you know).
