May 24, 2020 - Tasted with two other older Copain Syrahs. Beautiful nose of fresh earth and cherries. On the palate the fruit is still fresh and bright. Blueberries, plums, violets. Polished tannins, lively acidity, great balance. Finishes long with spice, pepper and red fruits. Lovely wine. Should go another 3 to 5 years at a high Level. 14.2% ABV.

April 3, 2019 - Tasted blind: my WOTN. I just really enjoy the aromatics popping out of the glass. It smelled like cool climate syrah with some age on it. Really felt confident saying Cote Rotie after tasting it so it was a fun reveal to see Copain on the label. They did a great job here. In hind sight, I didn't get as much of the gamey/wild notes or the scent of violet and the wine was more about the fruit.

March 28, 2019 - Served blind. My final bottle of this, one I have hung onto since 2007. Man, this is drinking awesome. Aromatics of brewed coffee, some light stem. The palate is gorgeous, in balance and showing tar, garrigue, blue fruit and the terroir of Garys' with A-1 steak sauce/teriyaki. Even showing some finishing tannin. Probably the best aged US syrah I have drank in many years. If you got any left, you're gonna enjoy it.

January 3, 2019 - Not sure if this is just too old; I was hoping for the best, but I couldn’t detect much pleasurable about this bottle. I do have another bottle - I’ll update this after trying that sometime soon.
