Community Tasting Notes 129

April 7, 2023 - Deep garnet, rich aroma, big body yet tannins fully integrated, medium to high acidity, with "disgusting finesse" and almond, anise, dragon fruit, raspberry, strawberry preserves and a hint of cherry cream plus leather, basil and date interludes. Who says Paso won't age!!! Likely will go another 5 years. Shared at 52 birthday party, bought on release. Very sad this is my last of the 2005s. 97

December 26, 2021 - All notes from other tasters seem accurate. This wine is superb. The only drawback is the high alcohol. I wish they could hold under 13.5. I think it would improve by doing so. This is a beautiful wine.

June 21, 2021 - Largely consistent with previous tasting notes, but this is quite possibly the first Saxum I've had that has begun to show some notes of aging - this particular bottle exhibited mint/cedar aromatics. Keep holding?

August 1, 2020 - Decanted 2 hours. Tasty wine. Alcohol is a bit high, but the decanting did help with this. Great dark fruit. We great with BBQ ribs.

June 12, 2020 - Decanted for 1.5 hours. Dark cherry in chocolate with alcohol.
Perfume and strong, fresh cedar, blood, black olives, lush flavors, the alcohol is a bit aggressive.
Very robust good wine. weight is heavy, acid medium plus.
