August 19, 2023 - Very youthful and vibrant for an 05, drinking beautiful but could easily lay down longer lots of life left and great fruit
May 20, 2016 - Smoky cherry, tobacco and a little barnyard on the nose. Flavors of black cherry, kirsch, dark plum, black current, some oaky smokiness, damp earth, pencil lead and some bitter herbs. Medium body and smooth texture after some air. Probably on the downslope but still very good. Don't PNP, needs 1 hr+.
March 8, 2015 - Still great and heavy. Cork broke as it was being opened, despite being stored on its side for 10 years.
February 26, 2015 - Definitely mature but still has a distinctive nose. Dark firm fruit with a remarkable full mouth feel, smokey tar, tobacco all those ridiculous names for wines. Still has tannins and a long finish. It will probably open up and bloom.
December 27, 2014 - Peaking or just past. Velvety mouthfeel and good fruit. Drink now.
May 31, 2014 - 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (M/M thelostverse): Aromas of vanilla, boysenberry, currants and dark fruit; ripe. Dark fruit and oak spice on the palate with firm, obtrusive tannins and vanilla- loads of oak here. No guess; no one thought Cab Franc.
March 21, 2014 - This is a beautiful, underrated, gem. Viscous, dense, and perfumed. No merlot, but reminds me of a right bank Bordeaux anyway. Tar on the nose. Great body and length. Fabulous.
February 21, 2014 - Aging very well, very smooth mouth feel, and tastes of green pepper and plum.
December 27, 2013 - Inky dark fruit bomb. Smooth and almost velvet.
January 11, 2011 - Dark black fruit with good ripeness, medium bodied, smooth, with spice, olive and a bit of pepper. Very nice and balanced. I do enjoy new world cab francs in general as they reach a nice ripeness (compared with many Loires) while retaining the pepper olive.
