July 29, 2023 - Pineapple, pear, stone fruit, flowers, earth, smoke, light herbs, nut oil, and minerals on the nose. Stone fruit, lemon, minerals, guava, earth, and herbs on the palate. Really well judged tangy acidity, med-full body, med-long finish. Delicious. There's a lot going on in this wine. At times it seems sweet, but then the acidity kicks in. It seems tropical, and then the minerals kick in. Kept my interest, and then the glass was empty.

July 22, 2023 - This bottle felt like it had a bit more energy. Ripe Cali nose. Sone oak, sweetness but also lighter than expected
    Decent

June 10, 2023 - Drunk for dinner of prawn tempura. 15%. Vibrant pale gold. Oaked nose with vanilla, cream, smoked butter, nutty and tropical fruit notes with stoney minerality. Nicely balanced with plenty of acidity. Rich and full but not heavy - well judged. This is still very young and with time this should develop more complexity which could edge the score upwards. However, this is already a very good New World chardonnay.

Last of the bottle retasted after 2 months open in the fridge. As above, but with more lemon cheesecake and greater minerality over tropical fruitiness.

December 25, 2022 - Delicious full bodied Chardonnay from Frei Road Vineyard. The nose of this wine almost hints at a lighter buddied more tropical dense kind of wine. The palate, on the other hand, reveals something completely different. This l poured a medium straw color to the glass. Entry of white peach and maybe more of an herbal and brambly character than I was expecting. Bartlett pear notes on mid-palate. Finishes with a pretty robust mouthfeel, slight hint of white pepper. Extremely enjoyable. I really have to pace myself on these as they usually go so darn fast in the offerings yet are really nice and robust and personality dense wines that are quite hard to keep your hands off of! Drink now or hold for 5 to 7 years.
