November 12, 2022 - Wet stone, dried tropical fruits, beeswax, creme brulee, citrus zest. The oak is so well integrated, that it makes me angry. No QPR here, but who cares.

May 9, 2022 - Spot prawn season! Wifey bought two pounds so a nice Checkmate seemed like a great match, and it was.
Queen Taken is one of my favorites, crisp and fresh, with lemon and grapefruit, pale yellow, medium body that doesn't overpower the sweet prawns. -

Definite toasted oak notes, vanilla and warm butter, but with a nice vein of lemon and orange peel.
