December 11, 2022 - 86: I knew there was no way this sub-$10 wine was really going to be a 97 rating (lol), but I expected something more Malbec-like than this. Don't get me wrong: this is absolutely drinkable with smooth feel and lighter tannins, and it paired reasonably well with a simply seasoned skirt steak. But a Malbec it is not. Super jammy, no detectable terroir, and only faint alcohol on the finish. I might say I was disappointed, but this was purchased and consumed more for the experience than the anticipation. It's better than most sub-$10 wines I've had, it's just not a good representation of Malbec.

    November 1, 2022 - Deep ruby colour.

Medium intensity on the nose with vanilla, blackberry, smoke, licorice, and clove.

Medium intensity on the palate with some red currant coming through. High acidity, medium but slightly rough tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, short finish.

Drinkable Malbec but not particularly enjoyable due to rough tannins, short finish and lower intensity.

December 21, 2021 - My daughter and I, who both like Argentina Malbecs, really like this wine, especially for the price. It's definitely a wine we'll both buy again.

December 14, 2021 - For sure a different style than Mendoza Malbecs. Fuller, more tannic and rich. It comes from a very high altitude and cooler climate. Cherry, chocolate, blackberry and leather notes. I’m definitely a fan of Salta.
