December 7, 2023 - Deep, dark garnet in color. Full, forward & fragrant aromas of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of floral notes of violets & earthy/dusty notes, spices, sandalwood, cocoa/coffee, anise, minerals, leather & hints of camphor & cedar in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of sour cherries, cranberries & pomegranate with exotic spices, herbs, dark cocoa, some tar, minerals & a hint of oak. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but it should develop further with additional aging. A wonderful Brunello which will only get better with further aging at which time it should merit a higher score (95+).

June 19, 2023 - Promising but too tight wound up even with decanting. Rest 3-5 years.

Scents show rustic and old school notes of a "traditional style" Brunello that recall aromas of dust, damp earth, rubber eraser, pencil box, red apple skin, tea, spice, dark cherry, black plum, dried cranberry, savory herbs, camphor, dried florals, cedarwood, charcoal and hints of leather, dried meats and brine.
The palate shows both power and poise with firm chewy tannins balanced with tart acids that work concert. Flavors hit the palate with dark cherry, crunchy raspberry, black plum and red apple skin are laced with spice, herbs, dried florals, cedarwood, No 2 pencil, leather, earth, saline and hints of charcoal smoke. The finish is long where the burly tannins gain in intensity.
    Built for the long haul.

February 26, 2023 - Absolutely stunning wine! My first of the Riserva's from this estate, drank cases of the regular brunello and have some 2010s in this category. After popping this baby, I will probably try those as well. This is quite approachable now with an 1+ hour decant. Very seductive and silky. Soft on the pallet with great balance and dark fruit flavors. It's a notch above the regular brunello. What you get is simply a perfected version of the regular one. Everything is PERFECT! Now anyone who loves Brunello will tell you it's hard to find a bad one, but great ones - well this is certainly one of them.

December 7, 2022 - Very enjoyable especially with air time. Definitely a $50-100 bottle. It nothing over that. Cherry, tobacco, new leather, cedar and damp earth. Moderate tannic but heatly plus acidity. This likely needs 5 years plus. Overall not seeing much elevation between this Riserva and the regular Brunello.
