August 18, 2022 - Consistent with previous bottle. These 2002s are so charming and welcoming now.

June 3, 2022 - Eudemis’ note isn’t far off. A very impressive flavor profile, though on balance I was swayed by the nose more than the palate. Served with crab cakes and this complemented the richness of the dinner quite well. Not epic but what I want from nicely aged Red Burg - complexity of nose and palate, intensity without being over-bearing, well aged but suffusedmwith fruit.

March 14, 2021 - 13.5% alcohol. The long cork is soaked 3/4 of the way. Opened 30 mn ahead, and poured two glasses 20mn before the meal. Light ruby colour, not entirely limpid; marginal signs of ageing at the very edge of the rim.
The nose is immediately captivating with red berries, pot-pourri and a refined infused quality; very high class. The mouth is possibly even better, extremely refined, intense without any feeling of extrinsic concentration. Silky mouthfeel. Vivid but tamed wild red berries and elements of forrest floor. Rose petals in the finish.
Frankly, this bottle is of Grand Cru quality, and I do not expect to drink a better Burgundy this year. I vaguely remember some reviewers being sniffy about Girardin at the time of purchase (fifteen years ago or so), especially his reds, and I am glad that I did not pay too much attention.
Perfect to drink now, but should age gracefully for another five years at least.
One of these wines which cause you to pause and meditate (on how lucky you are to be alive, for a start).
    Outstanding.

December 29, 2019 - {Bought on release; perfect fill. PopNPour with JL, MK, BS at their house} Lovely nose, much softer and resolved than I expected this Pommard to be, delicious, minerally with black fruits, complex, medium length on finish. A winner and I wish I had more.

August 22, 2019 - The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like raisin, strawberry jam and black olive. It tastes like raisin and raspberry. The body is light/medium. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.
