Community Tasting Notes 20

April 5, 2024 - A dense, light sucking dark garnet in the glass.
Big, bold, beautiful aromas with well developed tannins and punchy flavors of blackcurrant and vanilla kissed cherries. Secondary characteristics of mulling spices and dark chocolate were welcome additions on a cold, rain drenched night.
This was a fantastic Paso Cab blend from powerful nose to lingering finish.

If my wife were writing this note, the rating would be 97 -she REALLY loved what cellar time did for this vintage. As it stands for me, I think a 94+ is a good landing spot for a very fine wine.

July 30, 2023 - Smooth and easy drinking, made for the masses. Very ripe black fruit and liberal oak show plenty of vanilla and baking spice. Complexity and depth are lacking for this price category.

    Deep purple.

Pronounced aromas of ripe plum, bumble berry jam, black currant, vanilla, cinnamon, campfire ash, dried herbs.

    Pronounced palate.

Full body, medium (+) acidity, medium (+) tannins, medium (+) finish.

January 2, 2023 - Fruity. A bit sweet, too. Typical Paso Robles flavor. Not very complex. Not bad, but not great. Probably would go with a cheap Chilean or Argentinian and get the same flavors.

April 14, 2022 - Nothing special here, just another weekday evening bottle, very tasty though.
