January 21, 2024 - All fruit and California sunshine. Decanted for about an hour before pairing with beef and potatoes in beef gravy. This is a rich, fruit-forward wine but even at 15.2% ABV, it is balanced and not hot. Cassis, black fruits, menthol and chocolate on the nose. There is a minor earth component too. Rich, full-bodied on the palate. Medium tannins and medium minus acidity. Long finish does have a touch of a burn when enjoyed without food.

March 9, 2022 - First bottle of Lail - starting with the entry level. Much sweeter than a 2016 FM Sleeping Lady I had before it. I opened this bottle on Sunday and then finished it off on Wednesday. Nice bottle but would wait a few years on this to mellow out with the fruit.
Edit: forgot I had a glass left in the fridge and just had the last glass tonight on Thursday. Has gained considerable weight and nuance. Well done. Will still wait on. My other bottle but this is begging for more time.2 people found this helpful Comment
