December 28, 2023 - Acidic and lacking balance or depth of flavor. Not sure what to do with this.
Actually, much improved on day 2. Acid attack much less, fairly enjoyable.

August 5, 2023 - PnP. Dark cherry, plums, some earth and green herbal notes, underlying floral notes. Medium body, medium+ acid, firm, drying tannins in the finish. More tannic and closed than I recall from my notes in 2021. I still like this, but it really does need time and I think it will be better in 5+ years. It has good structure and will definitely hold for at least 5+ years. Tremendous value at $20 full retail.

April 15, 2022 - I’ve had a lot about this wine from winebeserkers so when I finally saw a bottle, just had to try it.

    Popped and poured.

On the first sip it’s very tannic and acidic. And smell mostly alcohol which eventually blows off a bit but still persists. Needs some air. Eventually the dark fruit shows up and a hint of green? I liked it. Not overtly complex but very pleasant. Wife who didn’t think she liked Cab Franc also liked it.

Jan 28. 2023 - Consumed 80% as mentioned above and left the remaining under Coravin for 9 months.

    Strawberries
    Floral nose
    Fresh turned earth
    Hint of green
That strong whiff of alcohol has blown off
    Tannins have softened quite nicely

I agree with other TNs that this is probably going to get better with some time in the cellar given it’s progression under my stimulated aging.

Shoutout to Park Avenue Fine Wines in Portland, OR which closed down last year, where I bought this bottle, and where I used to frequent for their weekly blind tasting. You are missed.

    Updated to 89 points.

April 15, 2022 - some cacao and wood flavours, liqueur like rich dark fruits, fresh acidity and firm tannins. Not overly complex but nicely balanced, good flavour depth and character.
