Community Tasting Notes 5

  • Styeah Does not like this wine: 80 points

February 24, 2024 - Lemony peel, citrusy and lime. Quite bitter.

  • NickBurwood Likes this wine: 88 points

    September 6, 2023 - My last.
This has served well enough over the past couple of years, but to my taste now losing the tight minerally focus and grip that differentiates PFumé from Sancerre next door over the Loire.
    Drink up.

March 10, 2023 - Black label for this pure sauvignon that represents the Domaine's signature cuvée. The grapes come, in equal parts, from three different communes: Saint Adelain, Tracy sur Loire and Poully sur Loire.
An elegant wine, intense and velvety aromas: fruit, peaches and tangerines, cantaloupe melon and some spicy hints (ginger).
In the mouth the spicy notes are rediscovered, elegant and harmonious, Great balance minerality and alcohol. Maybe still young to be tasted again in 3/4 years.

March 7, 2022 - There is absolutely nothing to not like about this wine. Although the alcohol is admittedly a bit high at 14%, it is remarkably well-integrated. Elegant, sapid and delicious, I think I will have a hard time stopping at just a couple of glasses of this.

    APPEARANCE:
    Color & intensity: pale lemon

    NOSE:
    Intensity: pronounced
Aromas: white peach, grapefruit, lemon zest, flint, white flowers, blackcurrant bud
    Development: developing

    PALATE:
    Sweetness: dry
    Acidity: medium (+)
    Alcohol: high
    Body: medium (+)
    Intensity: medium (+)
Flavors: grapefruit, white peach, gala apple, lemon tart, lemon zest, crushed flint, hint of salt
    Finish: medium (+)

    CONCLUSIONS:
    Quality level: very good

    November 4, 2021 - Classical Pouilly Fumé.
Gun flint and meadow herb, racy exotic fruit and a crisp core acidity. Medium bodied but long on flavour.
Drinking perfectly now and over the next couple of years.
