  October 4, 2023 - Tar and roses? Maybe. Just barely. Mostly muddled, indistinct flavors of moderate minus intensity. Unimpressed.

  November 14, 2021 - Pale ruby fading quickly to pink with a watery rim. Nose of red fruits, leather, and a bit of tar. Medium-bodied on the palate with good acidity and fine but persistent tannins. Medium length aftertaste. Solid, but not special.
  
  I am not an expert on Barolo or Barbaresco, but I was expecting a bit more oomph to this bottle. It is more... gentle...than I believe it should be. Having said that, it's a pretty wine that would pair fairly well with roast chicken or grilled pork.
  
  EDIT: over 90 minutes, it became more integrated. It held up well against venison with cranberry-port sauce. I raised my rating by one point.
