January 14, 2024 - Had my first bottle of three in October 2022 and scored it a 92. As I had hoped, this improved over the interim.
Still a Cab lovers Pinot but actually has more Pinot typicity at this point.
Lovely, soft yet piercing red fruit now dominates.
Give it a couple hours of air and a sliiiiight chill.
If you're a fruit fan, I'd say drink now. This will last many years if you like more muted fruit and a more evolved tasting experience.

February 14, 2023 - Been a big fan of Pisoni for years but this has a lot of Syrah influences. As the Wendy’s ad used to ask “ Whers the Beef”, I am asking “ Where is the Pinot”?
October 18, 2022 - After WETROCK's note I approached this with some trepidation.
I'm used to the Pisoni Pinots being a bit challenging when young and find them to be more to the Cabernet side of Pinot.
So this was a bit surprising as there was more nuance in this bottle than just a wall of wine.
Needs at least 90 mins of air to start opening up. Used the traditional Pinot Bowl. Aromatic nose with some spice and dark cherry.
Ended up really liking it as it was elegant and bold but not overbearing.
Definitely expect my score to increase with a few more years of age.
If you have three or more it's good to go now with some aeration TLC. Two or one and give it at least two more years.

October 3, 2022 - Drank my first bottle two years ago right after purchase and it was not a great experience. Fat and Syrah like with a tar note. No sense of energy or exuberance that you expect from the Pisoni Estate. I hope I caught it after a lot of travel or a bottling shock sort of mood so I left this other one for a couple of years and withheld a note. Well a couple years made no difference. Fat and saucy. Lacking acidity to give it energy. The "minerality" in the other notes seem from some other dimension. A wine in this manner could never show something like that. No real tannin either. Just sort of ripe, dark fruits with no sense of framing or borders to hold it together. Actually, it feels like viscosity holding it together. That sort of keeps all the exciting stuff you want all folded onto itself. One of my worst experiences in comparison to history and expectation in recent memory. This is more like a big fat Zin or Napa Cab people drink with BBQ than the complex, electric Pinot you expect with this bottle.
