    February 15, 2024 - Drank over 2 hours - with leftovers
    * First with a 15 minute double decant. Purple fruit, acidity, and tannins. Middle and After-taste a bit disjointed - maybe tannins. Happened to be eating citrus-dressed radicchio salad - but that didn't seem to clash at all
    * After 2 hours with Moroccan lentil stew (cinnamon, saffron, sausage, bay leaves, etc). Fruit toned down. More umami vs acidic. But did not develop length - not sure if the tannins resolved

1st of two cases. So will be interesting to see the evolution. If this is from THE Russian River vineyard that demands 7-10 years of cellaring- will be fun!

But right now I would open and serve with with a short decant as a fruit+acid cabernet ...if I needed to...

Oh yes - and I had a small glass of left over decent Chianti Riserva (from a couple of days ago - but vac-u-vined and in fridge). Different wines, but, at a broad level, this one had a lot more complexity than the Chianti.

February 1, 2023 - I believe this is my first RRV cab ever. Blind, I would have guessed modern styled bdx, and maybe right bank. Dark fruit with a coffee note. Medium + bodied. Still pretty tightly wound. I would guess it needs at least 3 years to hit its better drinking window. Interesting.

August 8, 2021 - Earlier reviewers must have had a bottle that hadnt yet settled. Opened one today and at PnP it had a lovely nose of dark fruit, red plum and blackberry. There was a nice level of acidity and noticeable fine tannins but it was a bit out of balance. Even at 14.6% ABV there was no noticeable alcoholic heat. Will update my review over the course of the next 3 days, but I expect this to come together nicely.

UPDATE 1 - 3 hrs in, the acid has become more prominent, it is moving in the wrong direction. Interestingly, I mixed this with OG 51 and it made for an excellent blend, better than both individually! Will post another update for Day 2. Removing my score for now, until we see where this is going.

February 14, 2021 - Decidedly unappealing. It tastes flat, has a lousy mouth feel, no tannins to speak of. It tastes like watered down fruit juice. This really makes me question the judgement of De Negoce.
