Community Tasting Notes 4

January 20, 2022 - Tight nose, dark opaque garnet in the glass. Opens with a core of dark raspberry, prevailing into some meat juice. Well integrated, smooth, tannins. Some tertiary flavors possibly of truffles and licorice. After some time in the glass and warming up, picks up some floral notes on the end and some baking spice in the middle.

    Quite nice for the price.

April 6, 2021 - Consistent, notes on this bottle are identical to previous tasting notes. Really good!

March 4, 2021 - Opulent, young grenache fruit. The nose is very intriguing of black, purple youthful fruit. The palate mimics this as well. Herbal passionfruit, purple licorice, fruit forward and great acidity up front and finishes with a nice more rounded character. Have 1 more of these left. Really nice structure yet I don't think you could age this one too long. When It drinks like it does right now, none of that really matters anyway! Pop the cork and have a good time!

December 31, 2020 - After half the bottle sat to slow-ox over 24 hrs, it really improved this wine. At first this one was all about the chalky, youthful brambly red thorny fruit. And WOW it had a ton of it. So much on day 1 that this really was out of balance. Second day the fruit was still there but the herbal quality and white pepper finish evened this one out. Still quite acidic on the opening. This wine is quite enjoyable now, but really I think the best thing to do with this one is to let it bottle age and drink on past vintages. This is a monster, and will do well over the next 6-7 years.
