Community Tasting Notes 6

January 6, 2024 - I have had 6 vintages (15-20) of this cuvée, and 16-20 in recent time. I think that this wine is very consistent over the vintages, with tasting notes such as red berries, green notes and minerality. The most notable difference is that the wine young expresses a more natural style with a little spritz on the tongue, and that the wine apart from losing this, does not gain anything by aging. The best showings for me has been at about 5 years of age.

October 2, 2022 - A slightly riper vintage from the 2018, but no less enjoyable. Deep ruby in the glass. Pronounced nose of ripe red berry fruit, plum, bramble and some freshly dug up soil. Full-bodied with a streak of acidity that carries the wine beautifully over the finish line. Long, nervy aftertaste. Good value, would bring this to a lamb roast anytime of the week.

    August 16, 2022 - Nervy, dense & sour.

Deep ruby. Med+ intensity. Violet. Blueberry, black plum, blackberry, fresh. Nail varnish. Medium tannins, firm. High acidity, medium body. 12,5% abv. Med+ finish.

8 months in amphora with skins.

May 12, 2022 - A bit of fizz upon opening. I was surprised by the purple color that somehow reminded me of a Napa cab (!).
On the palate it's nothing like it as the wine is light-bodied and fresh.
As noted by other, this wine reminded me of a natural wine. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I am all the same glad I tried it.

February 8, 2022 - I am not the target audience for this wine. Biodynamic, fermented in amphora for eight months. Confected nose of purple fruits, with some umami notes. Grippy tannins. It has that foisty natural wine character that some like.
