Community Tasting Notes 4

June 24, 2023 - 3rd bottle from case. Frankly, disappointing. After decanting for a time it shows fairly well but degrades quickly. Despite assumed QPR, mediocre at best.

June 12, 2022 - Decant for 2 hours. Tannins evident but not harsh. Black fruit to the fore. Tannins became more integrated the longer it aired. Very good value and drinking really well now although notes suggest it has a long life ahead.

April 24, 2022 - First bottle from case. Opens with an aromatic broadside, rich, sweet and heady. Decanted it, and found there to be considerable sediment for such a young wine. Two hour mark about right. On the palate, intense and round, sensing more blackberry than blackcurrant. Tannins evident but mostly tamed now and acidity dominates initially. Background of licorice and menthol, hints of leather and graphite. Classic Left Bank wine. Obviously good pedigree vineyard but young vines, I'd say. Good QPR.

March 21, 2021 - Ruby red, blackcurrant aroma, full bodied, lovely blackcurrant fruit, very distinguished and long. Very good with roast lamb. A good example of the 2016 vintage and just what good claret should be!
