January 19, 2015 - Something was off about this wine - lots of VA on the nose and the palate was stripped. Too bad!

November 14, 2014 - I have never had a syrah that was so smooth. Color is as dark as dark can be. Aroma has a hint of barnyard that is followed by great dark fruit. Nice long finish. Silky smooth. This wine sets the bar for syrah.

September 30, 2014 - Awesome aromas upon opening. Black olive smoked meats, raw blood. Palate was hopelessly behind the amazing nose but still excellent. Tannins very soft. Nice acidity. Great flavors. Finished a bit short. No alcohol detractors. Drink now. Decanting optional. Great bottle.
    92+.

June 14, 2014 - Dark red-purple. Dark berries, smoke, dried/cured meats and a bit of a floral component eventually pokes through after several hours. Flavors follow suit with black and blueberry, some pepper and plenty of char on the medium finish. Tannins are not heavy but still hanging in there, and crispy acidity keep it lively.

April 21, 2014 - We had the 04 Kimberleys and the 04 Reed's along side each other with lamb chops for easter dinner. The Kimberleys was very masculine with bloody meats whereas the Reeds was chock full o blueberries and a finish for days. Both wines went well and were great examples of how syrah can contrast given the terroir. Posting this same note for the Reed's.

i didnt blend the two, but I liked the meats of Kimberley with the finish of Reeds.
