March 12, 2024 - PnP’ed and consumed over 3 hours. Medium+ nose of violet, black plum, blackcurrant, pencil shavings, tobacco, and savory notes. Medium acidity, medium+ fairly resolved tannins, and medium finish. Drinking quite well now showing some well-integrated tertiary notes, maybe with even further upside from here.

October 28, 2021 - Deep ruby, highly extracted, with notes of blackberry, black plum, vanilla, cola, and earth. Not sure why, but the first bottle that was opened a few weeks ago had significant residual sugar that rendered it almost undrinkable, which was very disappointing, but I decided to open another one and fortunately it was much more balanced. Tannins are a little harsh at the moment. Medium+ acidity and body, slight but noticeable heat on the finish. Definitely worth waiting a few years on this.

April 20, 2021 - Exploring 2018s and 2019s in Napa - Spring 2021; 4/18/2021-4/22/2021 (Napa Valley, CA): Not as pronounced on the nose. Fresh, elegant flavors of red and black fruit. Tart cherry, cassis, vanilla, cinnamon, dried herbs, earth, and savoriness. Grippy tannins and slight bitterness on the finish. Looking forward to trying this again in a couple of years.

January 26, 2021 - Notes of blueberry, baked plum, pencil shaving, blackberries, chocolate, toasted oak, baking spice, singed herbs, and gravel. Big wine, ripe and full throttle on the mouthfeel. The fruit is dark and absolutely coats the palate. Has a wild intensity to it that lingers through the finish.

Definitely not for the faint of heart, but for those who like the bigger styled Cabernet. Tannins are big but the wine drinks quite well out of the bottle. Needs a long decant, tried this wine across a 7 day period and found it to be best on day 3-4. A touch hot on the back palate.
