May 4, 2023 - Double decanted prior to serving. Poured along with a 2017 Domaine Thalabert Crozes Hermitage as a contrast in Syrahs from two different regions.
Walla Walla wine poured dark in glass, opaque. Nose and flavors of dark berries with some meatiness. Black pepper spice which I enjoy on syrah. Ripe tannins, good dose of glycerin complete the long finish on this Syrah. Much improved over last tasting, should continue to develop in bottle. Quite nice now, still hard to believe this was $108/case?? Cameron delivers the good again on his sub $10/btl wines.

    April 27, 2023 - Drank in 1 day with a ~3-hour bottle decant.

Deep purple, almost completely opaque. Aromas of blackberry, oak, minor floral notes, with some alcohol scent. "Supple" entry seems appropriate in this case. Flavors dominated by dark fruit and oak, and a bit peppery. Chewy tannins were almost overpowering in this wine, likely a welcomed attribute if paired with the correct food. Not overly acidic, fairly dry, appropriate bitterness. Not perfectly balanced, but good for $9.

Overall, I would characterize this as fruit- and oak-dominated tannin bomb with minimal complexity. Straightforward and approachable now after a number of years in the bottle. Definitely a QPR winner. Probably has the stuffing to go for another few years, but why wait?

May 7, 2022 - Decanted for 8 hours. And...meh. why would anyone want this much new oak in a syrah?

October 25, 2021 - Decanted for a couple hours. Very fruit forward, overly extracted, nothing to write home to mom about. Very mediocre.

For $9 I guess it's worth it? But is it worth your time?
