May 2, 2019 - Popped, poured, consumed over next 90 minutes. For years, this wine has been awkward and hard as nails, but it seems to be emerging from that phase. Started out tough and withholding, but with lots of swirling and air, it starts to give, improving, coming together in significant leaps every ten minutes or so. It was still improving in the final, very enjoyable sips. Huge improvement over last tasting 7 years ago. I'll wait a few years, but I look forward to my next bottle. If drinking now, give it lots of air.

May 1, 2019 - The vintage as a whole is generally started to open up and live up to its initial plaudits from over 20 years ago, and this is no exception. This has really started to take on secondary characteristics, and while there is further development ahead over the next few years, it is really enjoyable now, and has moved forward considerably in the last 6 months. Still benefiting from extended aeration, it is full of red and dark berry fruits. The nose is a little muted, but the palate is deep and complex and well balanced with strong tannin. Likewise the finish is balanced and lengthy, but still showing the tannic characteristics of the vintage. As with the vintage as a whole, the tannic profile is never going to be to everybody's taste, but I personally find the wine very appealing.

April 29, 2019 - I'm not going to rate this because service was not adequate, the bottle had recently traveled and did not show it's best.

April 3, 2019 - Nose of red and black cherry, black berry, licorice, and earth, same on the palate, big body, tasty, mouth filling fruit, soft tannins on the long finish, suggest more cellar time needed-maybe two years.

October 23, 2018 - Popped and poured. We used a good quality corkscrew (wide and a little thicker), but when I tried to pull the cork out, only the centre came out. Still managed to get the whole thing out without too much hassle in the end.
Very nice and typical mature Bordeaux, good stuff this. Tobacco, some barnyard. Tannins nearly dissolved. Some red fruit still very vibrant.
Drank over 1.5 hours, with some cheeses. Perhaps an hour of decanting would have benefited?
Not a heavyweight, but very very enjoyable.
I don’t think this will improve over time, but it should be good to drink over the next 5 years I’d say.
