November 5, 2013 - Excellent wine. A prominent but well integrated oak, delicious factor and sweet ripe fruit put this over the top.

December 20, 2012 - Very dark color. Lush and flavorful. Prominent but integrated oak. Full body, very complete mouth feel from the front to the back. Medium length and pleasant finish.

July 4, 2009 - Very good merlot, lots of cola flavor, along with cherries and vanilla. This is good for at least 5 more years

December 21, 2008 - Lots of vanilla and cherries coming thru on the nose. Very smooth and nicely structured. This is a big wine, but not too hot or overoaked like many Cali merlot/cabs can be. It definitely improves after about an hour

September 20, 2008 - 'Typycal California Merlot', tasted the alchool, needed some time to decant.aerate. Was much better after a few hours. Wouldn't buy again, much better stuff for same money (Ehlers)

(CHARLES CREEK MERLOT PASATIEMPO SANGIACOMO VINEYARD) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-huge, explosive; vanilla extract, chocolate covered black cherries; a little fake, but so seductive; TASTE-this is a monster, very New World; exceptional; the class & explosiveness of a Pomeral, but the fruit & brightness of an Aussie Shiraz (but Merlot flavors); black currant, really nice green asparagus tips throughout the mid-palate; chocolate covered sour & black cherries w/ some asparagus tips; I adore this; well structured, complete, silky bomb of a wine, nice balance; GV-91+
