October 5, 2019 - I have owned this wine since inception and cellared at 65 degrees. It’s been a wonderful ride but recent tastings showed it to be on the decline. It’s losing depth but still has a great nose. Luckily have just one bottle left. I may purchase another just to see if it’s the cellar temp

September 30, 2019 - Nice old refined Bordeaux, at a great point. Just the right amount of austerity, fruit and earth.

September 14, 2019 - A gorgeous, classical old-style Bordeaux. Angular and herbal upon opening, but a 90 minute decant enabled to fruit to pop out! Mature cedar, leather, and earthy cassis wafted from the glass. Deep medium-rich cassis fruit, blackberries and a bit of exotic spices. Medium-long finish that is very elegant. At or maybe just past peak - but delightful!! 93+

September 1, 2019 - Dusty, earthy nose of tea leaf, humidor, caramel-latte, leather and damp soil. The structured palate echoes the nose but also reveals cedar, graphite, beef blood and dark forest fruit. Tannines are wonderfully rounded and ripe. Medium to full-bodied, this is a gorgeous left-banker.

August 23, 2019 - Friend brought this to the Ledbury. Funny when a '95 Leoville Barton isn't one of the more exciting wines on the table and yet this was really good. Perfectly aged. Good balance of the fruit and the more secondary.

Rockss and Fruit

(Leoville Barton) Had this wine the other night. Nothing wrong with it. Good chunky Cabernet fruit, some earthy minerality, slightly soupy and stewed as it warmed up. Pretty balanced. Just an ok wine. Boring. The C-Span of wine. Could be the lameness of 1995 Bordeaux as I have never had one that has done anything for me at all.

(Chateau Léoville-Barton St Julien) A deep, ruby garnet colour. The nose screams young wine - ground coffee, toffee oak and ripe blackcurrant fruit. On the palate some rich fruit with balanced acidity and soft tannins which only really attack on the finish. Delicious, and just about ready for drinking.
