July 29, 2020 - This wine has a lovely colour with dark crimson and touches of red at the edges. The nose jumps out of the decanter with blackcurrant, dark raspberries, cedar and olives with a touch of spice and dark chocolate. The palate has real depth of fresh and pure fruit with a nice line of berry pastilles leading into a very soft and persistent finish with a final gentle tannic grip. Delicious.

May 12, 2020 - Last bottle from case bought when released. In a good spot, but this is an uninspiring wine. Color fine. Modest nose. A bit of a vegetal taste, without robust fruit (which it never had). Still long numerous ‘95 Bordeaux. Still hoping for more....

March 16, 2020 - Beautiful. So delicious and mature with the beef we had it was nicely paired.

February 19, 2020 - Drinking beautifully. Smooth tannins, classic claret profile of cherry, tobacco, tar. Mature but still very youthful. Very pleasurable.

Rockss and Fruit

(Leoville Barton) Had this wine the other night. Nothing wrong with it. Good chunky Cabernet fruit, some earthy minerality, slightly soupy and stewed as it warmed up. Pretty balanced. Just an ok wine. Boring. The C-Span of wine. Could be the lameness of 1995 Bordeaux as I have never had one that has done anything for me at all.

Winedoctor

(Chateau Léoville-Barton St Julien) A deep, ruby garnet colour. The nose screams young wine - ground coffee, toffee oak and ripe blackcurrant fruit. On the palate some rich fruit with balanced acidity and soft tannins which only really attack on the finish. Delicious, and just about ready for drinking.
