Community Tasting Notes 5

  • BottleScholar Likes this wine:

August 11, 2023 - Orchard and tropical fruit with faint woody herbs. A bit of weight on the palate, and finishes clean with a little phenolic texture. Not quite thrilling, but enjoyable. Extrapolating a good QPR on this wine, the variety has solid potential at higher price points. From the tech sheet for 2020, "100% Treixadura grown on granite in the estate vineyard of Finca Traveselas, where free-draining soils and southeastern exposure yield highly concentrated grapes. Pressed after a brief maceration, fermented in stainless and rested in tank a further 8 months."

March 8, 2022 - Fresh, easy drinking wine with ample notes of stone fruits, citrus, and minerals. Generous acidity makes this a fun sunny day wine.

July 23, 2021 - Color: Light to medium yellow with green reflexes. Nose: Something savory. Some fruit and herbs. Delicate nose but nice. Mouth: Smoother than average mouthfeel that is counterbalanced by a lively acidtiy. A nice bitterness from midpalate into the very long finish. Elegant and off the beaten path. Bone-dry. 12.5% alc. After a while of having been breathing in the glass and bottle there is more fruit like pineapple. This wine has some complexity and is still a baby.

June 19, 2021 - Bright straw with green reflexes. Primary fruits, some sweet extract, some yeasty aromas. Soft acidity with medium body. Easy-drinking wine without edges. Great summer wine.

  • oropeza Likes this wine:

May 18, 2021 - Green papaya and apple in front of a fairly linear core, close to bracing acidity on the finish... delicious with a tin of octopus.
