May 2, 2024 - Tom's Edinburgh Offline (Number One Balmoral): Medium pale red. Nice pinot nose, quite classical but hard to get out. I don't think this is in closed phase per se, but I think it suffers alongside the MSD, coming across as rather low-key and pedestrian. In its own right this is a nicely built red Burgundy with the key elements in place, if all a little dialled back. I enjoyed the balance here and the soft light fruit - it has none of the rusticity or chunk typically associated with Pommard.

January 21, 2024 - I would not have guessed this is a Pommard. It is quite light, and lacks a lot of structure that I expect from a Pommard, unless it is going through a closed period. I would suggest drinking it up as I think it’s going to dry out. Very little aromatics. Clipped finish. Not a lot of pleasure going on here.

October 18, 2023 - Pale garnet. Nose quote subdued initially but evolves in the glass. Still lots of red fruit, with hints of tertiary development - mushroom, sous-bois. Some oak spice but well integrated. On the palate, dry, med+ acidity, med tannins, very fine, med+ finish. Alcohol at 13.5% is well integrated. Classic burgundy with a lot of finesse. Probably won’t please those who want a bigger riper wine, but I really enjoyed this. It should evolve further - for the moment the tertiary side is quite muted.
