February 24, 2024 - This was the perfect time to open this wine. Inky magenta or maroon with gripping dry tannins. Medium body and finish. Tons of forest floor, cedar, menthol, with fresh herbs. Consumed with 30 day wet aged beef steak.

July 22, 2023 - Pop'n'pour
A strong nose of cherries and red currant underlaid by an herbal/woodsy note.
Palate has much of the same, plus other bright berries on the fore. Aftward the palate separates a bit too much into tannin and tart, losing focus and balance. I think some decanting will help draw things together. Medium++ body.
Initial rating of 87
Finished the bottle last night. Some improvement with the balance and a layer of forest floor entered the picture. Point added. -

September 8, 2022 - Revisiting about a year later and not finding much improvement. Raspberry, blackberry, oak, compost and jalapeno on the nose. Very tart red and black fruit, with a dustiness on the palate. Just not as good as the 2016 vintage.
