  June 24, 2023 - Opened, poured and let sit about 35 min. Then: Not much on the nose, maybe some darkish fruit. Taste is somewhat harsh, maybe some dirt and, surprisingly, some sweetish fruit kicks in at the finish. Acidity OK, but tannins noticeable and contribute to the harshness. Not pleasant to drink. Slightly better with more air and time, but still not pleasant. Day 2 was not quite as harsh and the slightly sweetish fruit showed up a bit sooner. One bottle left and I'll put it away for at least a few years, but not expecting anything positive..

  December 7, 2022 - Opened, poured an dlet sit about 45 min. Then: Not much on the nose. Initial taste is maybe some red fruit, but low-key, not over-ripe; acidity OK; tannins OK, but maybe a little grip on the finish; softish mouthfeel; OK finish. Towards the end of the glass (about 45 min from 1st sip) the taste is a bit more reddish fruit, even sweetish, particularly on the finish. Unfortunately, the astringency has ramped up on the finish as well. Not what I was expecting based on other notes. Hard to tell where this is going or how it will end.

  April 28, 2022 - This wine is flawed. While the bones of a great wine are there it defiantly has a lingering "smoke taint" taste. It's not undrinkable and I sat there last night thinking ... maybe drink it with smoked meats? Fortunately I only acquired 3 bottles. Buyer beware. My hope it the "reserve" from another source isn't tainted.

I have no idea how I didn’t notice this slap-in-the-face before. I’m honestly more disappointed in myself than I am the WA hype machine that convinced me to buy a full case…
