July 21, 2023 - Deep ruby color. Very fragrant nose. Medium body. Still very primary with pronounced tannins and acidity. Yet it bursts with raspberry and dark cherry flavor with a touch of orange. The juicy fruit balances the wine making for a pleasant accessibility. Yet this has another 4 or 5 years before it truly sits within it's drinking window.

December 12, 2022 - James's early look at 2016 Bar/Bar (Terra Rossa): This wasn't as joyous as the 2018 we had recently, but its character was consistent: bright and refreshing, delicate without being thin or flavourless, and somewhat grippy despite all of that. Notes of damp earth, cola and spice showed some development, but this remains a young wine, scarcely in its drinking window. My #2 tonight (although, with hindsight, I think I preferred the Segni).

December 12, 2022 - James' mid-tier 2016 Piedmonts (Terra Rossa, London N1): Nose shows red fruits, sandpapery tannins and seems to lack concentration. Not a patch on their 2018s where GianLuca Colombo was retained.

December 12, 2022 - 2016 Piedmont at Terra Rossa; 12/12/2022-12/13/2022 (Terra Rossa N1): Initially a little shy on the nose but with time really elegant red fruit notes emerge.
On the plate - spice, pomegranate, sapid red fruit. Tannins starting to integrate but some depth and structure here that needs a bit more time. I'd hold off for now if i had some -
