January 20, 2024 - Decanted for about an hour. Minor signs of age, but mostly ruby red, with a bit of bricking. Aromas of red fruit, fennel, roses, pepper, menthol, and hints of mushrooms. Similar on the palate, with delicate but generous sweet red fruit, grippy tannins still in evidence, and just the right amount of acidity to balance it out. A beautiful expression of Nebbiolo that should drink well for many more years.

October 20, 2023 - Five and one-half months since previous tasting. Agree with Leland in Michigan: beautiful wine. Best Feyles yet for me. Audouzed for 2.5 hrs. Medium-bodied. Faded brick on the pour; but, crystal claret in the glass. Aperol and blood-orange citrus peel nose. Lip-smacking sap slowly descends the inside slope of glass and palate. Dried cherry, pine needles and faint leather hang suspended, mid-palate. Bright acids. Very fine tannins. Luscious finish. Likely has lots of life left, but hard not to drink now. 14% abv.

October 13, 2023 - One of the wines we served for my wife’s 40th bday party and this was the surprise of the night. Didn’t know anything about going into the evening, but almost everyone who tried it named it their wine of the night.

May 5, 2023 - Ah, Alba. Bright crystalline, scarlet brick -- as if aglow from within. Medium body. Very leggy. Deep cherry pit aromas, and firm cherry flesh flavors on opening. Agree with notes from CARLOS FELLIPES and, more recently, LELANDINMICHIGAN. Societa Semplice Agricola:Simple Agricultural Society. Except, there is no thing simple about the 2013 Feyles Barbaresco. Soft and balanced, with supple acids and superb integration. And with a little air, a subtle tarragon note surprises. 14% abv. Very nice. D/H.

April 10, 2023 - Faded rosy/orange color. It's gentle and beautiful, but looks aged. Nose filling aromas yet subtle: Fall leaves, red fruit. Very pleasant, soft yet mouth filling, delicious tannic/acid balance. Great wine.
