Community Tasting Notes 9

  • Swaggering Beaunie Likes this wine:

January 22, 2022 - Tasted after a 3-hour decant, this was a delicious, elegant Spanish wine that is mellow and well-aged (although by no means tired), with some tertiary notes appearing. I detected principally black cherry, leather, and chocolate, but there were nuances of toasty oak, black raspberry, and a vaguely camphor-ish or eucalyptusy note. I found the wine delightful, and I think it's underrated by the community here. I got the last 2 bottles from some obscure corner of WTSO's warehouse, and I'm glad I did....the QPR of this $18 wine is off-the-chart.

May 17, 2017 - Lots of tanin, acid bite up front, strong and flavorful, with a long clean finish. Totally worth the money.

April 3, 2017 - Better than the community average suggests. The aroma initially is grapey and jammy, but the wine is different on the palate, with a refined and very Spanish savory complexity to accompany its mixed black fruits and moderate fine tannins. There is some floral perfume at the end. Heck of a deal at $18 from WTSO, I should have bought more.

February 10, 2017 - Interesting wine. We decanted for an hour before drinking. Nice acidity and age has treated this wine well. Aroma and taste of black licorice.
