October 5, 2023 - Rousseau Clos St Jacques and Corton-Charlemagne Dinner (Sepia - Chicago IL): In vertical. Mostly mature black fruit with braised meat and nearly sweet spice. Lots of earth. Good+ weight. I haven't had this wine in many years so had very expectations, that were slightly missed.

October 5, 2023 - 09|07|06|02|01|96|90 vertical. A good but not great bottle of this vintage. The bottle showed a bit muddled which subdued what was clearly gorgeous and complex fruit that seemed to be at peak.

May 26, 2023 - As beautiful as I remembered. The definition of understated elegance. Beautiful brambly red fruit, iron, earth and hint of spice. Amazing energy and youthfulness but still gracefully mature. This may still improve but I am surprised how little has changed in the last 8 years since I had this.

December 31, 2022 - More de-stemmed style cherry than floral notes. Not a wine that moved me.

August 13, 2022 - Again these amazing aromatics. 5th bottle of the half dose and each showing similarly well. After 90 mins or so drying out just a little - so would drink these bottles over the next few years.

(Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin "Clos St. Jacques") This was beautiful wine but seemed a touch candied for my palate. Perfect balance and very elegant fruit. Definetly not a bruiser. Has really calmed down. Acidity a touch low. Great nose of funk and cherries. Nice but somehow I think I would probably prefer the '91 or '93.
