  Having already tried the wines from when their parents were in charge of the winery (a magnificent 2002, for example), we finally had the chance to try one by the current generation of this family. As with the previous experiences, this had a very strong character, ripe and expressive: lots of ripe fruits such as melon, plums, exotic lychee, banana, peaches, grapefruit, yellow apples, ripe pears, raspberries, and cherry; strong presence of the meunier with some smoke, metallic notes, some salt, and ginger with white pepper; slightly herbal with fresh herbs and grass, as well as some lilies, a touch of white tea, and a freshness of freshly washed sheets; there was also a bit of yogurt, with some blue cheese.
  One might not expect much from a young wine, especially from the ‘simpler’ range of this family’s wines, but nothing further from the truth; this is complex, expressive, and attention-grabbing in all senses. As is often the case with high meunier-content champagnes, we found it very vinous, and sapid on the palate. The character of the meunier is so well represented; it’s the kind of champagne that is so deliciously easy to drink, that you don’t want to stop.
