October 15, 2023 - Red fruit up front, fairly dense and almost muddy in the core at pop. Day 2 opened a little more, some earl grey notes and spice to go with the density (almost Rioja-ish) before finishing long on acidity and tannin. All in: A little surprising since so many Willamette 17s are very red and high noted. Hopefully we can forget about the other bottle we have and come back to it in 5-10 years.

July 28, 2023 - Stunningly good at the price point, and in a great spot now. Mushroom, cherry, black tea and earth on the nose, with tart cherry and sage on the palate. Great food wine.

May 23, 2023 - Lighter in color but a little rusty. Musty grape aromas. Light ripe cherry and raspberry flavors with nice lengthy finish.

July 28, 2022 - One of the better Oregon pinots I have had. Nice fruit with some earthy tobacco along with some spice. Could use a little more cellar time.

December 13, 2021 - Friends over for dinner and wine (Strasbourg, France): The guessing game began, and one friend thought that this was Old World Gamay, probably from a high quality Village in Beaujolais. Another correctly guessed Pinot Noir, again Old Word, because no obvious vanilla oak derived notes, not so sweet and also somewhat stem like. The more I taste this - now the day after - the more I like it. Pale ruby color, the nose indeed exudes Pinot Noir in an Old World sense. Made from organically certified vineyards, at 700 feet elevation of the Dundee Hills, this is darn good wine, exuding forest strawberry and touches of sweet red cherry. The back label indicates that the wine has been aged in "neutral" oak (I guess that means not new?), and the oak component is very nicely integrated. Medium bodied, medium finish.
